Joining the line of avant-garde multimedia production studios in the country, AkwaAmaka Studios has opened in the Festac axis of Lagos, with a mission to harness underexploited local talents in the scene.

The studios, which includes a Live and Digital Studio, was founded by industry enthusiast Chief Stanley Obodoagwu.

Obodoagwu said the studios is seeking to impact talented Nigerian youths who believe they can make a mark on the entertainment scene.

He said, “AkwaAmaka was inspired by my passion for entertainment and secondly, to help build the Nigerian youths, and so far, we have been able to achieve this to an extent. AkwaAmaka is over two years in existence and we have done a lot within these two years. We are building the biggest radio, television station, production house in Africa.”

The media executive also said that he has signed five new artistes to the imprint, with the vision of propelling their talents to the spotlight.

“I am starting with the five artistes who have songs to their names. I started by teaching them how to write songs, made them have confidence in themselves that they can be great as artistes.

“I am not grooming the artistes to remain under my record label, but I’m grooming them to be better. The highest competition in the world that so many people do not realize is self-competition. How would the industry grow if they remain under my label? So, I believe that one day, they will leave to establish their record labels and it will continue like that. In future, we could even work together because I’ve invested in their growth.”
