Determined to create a platform that would help young music talents develop their skills, Netherland-based businessman Ogbuefi Udochukwu, otherwise known as Fire, has launched a new record label, Basic Entertainment. The outfit has also signed two artistes, Eze Emmanuel (Skul Feez) and Ogbonnaya Kennedy Chukwudi (Elgo Veen) to its label.

Speaking at the media unveiling of the artistes at the Sotel Suites Ltd, Amuo Odofin, Lagos, which attracted some stakeholders in the showbiz industry, as well as friends, colleagues and family members of the artistes event, the CEO of Basic Entertainment, Ogbuefi Udochukwu, said the platform was set up to help young Nigerian talents actualize their dreams.

“I’ve been studying the entertainment industry in Nigeria and I can tell you the country is blessed with so much talent. However, the challenge is that some of them lack the support to showcase themselves; that’s why I decide to create a platform that will help talents actualize their dreams. I’m not into this because I want to make money, but this is my own little way of giving back to the society. Through this platform, we intend to not only create music stars, who will do great exploits in the industry, we also plan to promote Nigerian music globally.”

On the choice of Skull Fezz and Elgo Veen as his first signings, Fire explained, “I’ve known these boys for some time now; they are talented. Both of them have been living in my house and I have seen how determined they are to advance their music career. Personally, I’m passionate about music and helping young people reach their goal. I decide to sign them on Basic Entertainment so as to give them that needed push to succeed. They are both talented, all I can say is, watch out for therm.” He said.

In his brief remarks, the Manager of Basic Entertainment Alex Ozone said the platform is poised to do great things in the industry, urging the media to support both artistes.“Basic Entertainment is here to set a new standard on how a record label should operate. Even before this event, both artistes have recorded a lot of songs already. In fact, Elgo Veen has a collaboration with B Red, while Skul Feez will soon be working with Zoro; that tells you how prepared we are. Very soon, we will be releasing their singles and collaboration. All we are asking for is your support to make their music go viral.”

Meanwhile, Ekeowu Nnameka Vitalis, Legal Adviser to Basic Entertainment, informed that all legal sides of the contract has been agreed and signed by both parties, urging the artistes to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talents to the world.

“Having signed the contract agreement, I want to congratulate both parties for this relationship that officially started today. Particularly, I’m charging the artistes to see this as an opportunity to showcase their talent to the world. Basic Entertainment has shown readiness to support your career; it’s left for you to take advantage of it.”

In their separate reactions, both Elgo Veen and Skul Feez thanked Basic Entertainment for the confidence reposed in them, assuring they will give nothing less than their best.“I’m very happy today because this is an opportunity I’ve been looking for; it’s been a long time coming. So many people have promised to support me in my music career, which never happened. Today, I thank the CEO of Basic Entertainment because he promised to sing me and he has fulfilled that promise today. I’m excited, I promise to give all my best,” Skul Feez, a native of Anambra State said.

On his part, Elgo Veen, who hails from Abia State, thanked the boss of Basic Entertainment for coming to their rescue.“We’ve ben living in his house for months; he’s been supporting our music all these while. I’m happy because finally, we’ve been given a contract to pursue our music career. This is something we’ve been praying for and I thank God that finally, it has come to fulfillment.”According to Udochukwu, “this is just the media unveiling of the artistes, we plan to have a proper unveiling party where you all will have the opportunity of listening to their music and watching them perform. However, I a couple of days, you will begin to hear some of their singles on air.”
