Almost everyone wore black at the 2018 Golden Globes Awards but that was for a reason: a solidarity movement against sexual harassment.
The all-black theme, though for a great cause, was still a great style moment: a lesson on how to wear black without seeming boring.
The styles ranged from extravagant to demure — extravagant like Issa Rae’s custom Prabal Gurung black metallic-shine gown with deep V and thigh-high slits, and demure like Emilia Clarke’s simple but effective Miu Miu number.
Some styles were not traditional red carpet looks but we couldn’t help but appreciate Angelina Jolie’s dark ethereal gown with base feathers.

The men did not disappoint either. Stanger Things‘ Caleb McLaughlin wore a black suit and black turtleneck innerwear. Sterling K Brown wore a black suede Isaia suit, and Alexander Skarsgard turned heads in a Hugo Boss tux.
