Yvonne Jegede is an actress, film producer, model and television personality who was born on August 25. She rose to prominence after she made a cameo appearance in the music video African Queen by 2Face Idibia alongside Annie Macaulay. After her University education in 2012, she came back to Nollywood and starred in movies like Okafor’s Law, Single and Married, 10 Days in Sun City, A night chic Squad, Love and Cancer, The Axis among others. Real names, Lauren Keyana Palmer was born August 26. She is an American actress, singer and television personality. Known for playing leading and character roles in comedy-drama productions, she has received a Primetime Emmy Award, five NAACP Image Awards, and nominations for a Daytime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She was included on Time magazine’s list of most influential people in the world in 2019. She made her acting debut in Barbershop 2: Back in Business and had her breakthrough starring in the drama film, Akeelah and the Bee.
Other roles she has played include; portraying the title character in the sitcom True Jackson, VP providing the voice of Aisha in the Nickelodeon revival of Winx Club, headlining the television film Rags, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, comedy horror series Scream Queens, the slasher series Scream, crime drama film Hustlers and a starring role in Jordan Peele’s Nope. Michael Jackson
Michael Joseph Jackson was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and philanthropist. Dubbed the “King of Pop”, he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. Over a four-decade career, his contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with his publicised personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture. Jackson influenced artists across many music genres; through stage and video performances, he popularised complicated dance moves such as the moonwalk to which he gave the name. He is the most awarded individual music artist in history.
In 2009, while preparing for a series of comeback concerts, This Is It, Jackson died from an overdose of propofol administered by his personal physician, Conrad Murray, who was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter. He was born August 29 and he died June 2009.

Born September 1, Aituaje Iruobe professionally known as Waje is a singer whose vocal range covers three octaves. She first gained recognition after being featured on the remake of P-Square’s Omoge Mi and their hit track, Do Me. In 2016, Waje was one of the four judges in the inaugural season of The Voice Nigeria and in 2018 on its final season of Africa Magic telenovela, Battleground, Waje was recurred. In January 2019, Waje and Omawumi launched Hermanes Media, a media company that specialises in film and TV production, adverts, content curation, brand event activation and creative digital marketing. She was one of the notable Nigerian entertainers who collaborated with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria to stand against electoral manipulation, vote-buying, violence and thuggery.

Zendaya
Her real names include, Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman and she was born September 1. Zendaya is an American actress and singer who has received various accolades; including a Primetime Emmy Award. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world on its annual list in 2022.
She began her career as a child model and backup dancer and she made her television debut as Rocky Blue on the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up. Some of the films she has starred in include; Spider-Man: Homecoming, which she went on to star in its sequels, Euphoria which made her the youngest recipient of the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, The Greatest Showman, Smallfoot, Malcolm & Marie and Dune. In addition to her acting career, Zendaya has ventured into music, her biggest commercial success as a musician came with her Zac Efron collaboration, “Rewrite the Stars”, from The Greatest Showman soundtrack in 2018.

Damson Idris
Idris was born September 2 in Peckham, South-East London and is of Nigerian descent. He is a British actor who currently stars on John Singleton’s crime drama Snowfall, which debuted 2017 on FX. Other projects he has starred in include: Outside the Wire, Farming, The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror among others.

Born 7 September, Badmus is a professional film actress, script writer, entertainer and a social media influencer. Her career in acting professionally started in 2000 but she came to limelight in 2008 when she shot to recognition starring in two Yoruba films titled Jenifa and Omo Ghetto. She has also starred in movies like Blackberry Babes, Swallow, Oshaprapra and Omo Ghetto; the saga.

Bright Okpocha, better known by his stage name Basketmouth was born 14 September. He is a comedian and actor who has organised popular stand-up comedy concerts like Basketmouth Uncensored across the globe. In 2005 and 2006, Basketmouth won the National Comedy Award and the award for Best Stand-up Comedian of the Year. In 2016, he appeared in the Africa Magic show, My Flatmates and in December 2020, he started his own comedy series titled Papa Benji. He released a highlife album titled ‘Yabasi’ as a soundtrack for the movie ‘Papa Benji’ in November 2020, also in 2022, he released the album titled Horoscope, which features guests artiste, Johnny Drille, Simi, M.I Abaga, Buju, Peruzzi, Oxlade among others.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Born 15 September, she is a writer whose works include novels, short stories and nonfiction. Adichie has written novels like Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah. Her short stories collection includes; The Thing Around Your Neck and the book-length essay We Should All Be Feminists. Her most recent books are Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions, Zikora and Notes on Grief. In 2008, she was awarded a MacArthur Genius Grant and she was also the recipient of the PEN Pinter Prize in 2018.

Asa
Born 17 September and professionally known as Aṣa. She is a Nigerian-French singer, songwriter, and recording artist. She made waves with her first single, “Eyé Adaba.” Partnered with Cobhams Asuquo, and with the involvement of Christophe Dupouy and Benjamin Constant, she produced her first platinum-selling self-titled album, Aṣa. Her second album, Beautiful Imperfection in collaboration with Nicolas Mollard was released in 2010 and went platinum in 2011. The lead single from Beautiful Imperfection titled “Be My Man” was released in late September 2010.
Asa’s third studio album, Bed of Stone, was released in August 2014. In September 2019, her fourth album titled Lucid was released. She released yet another album in February 2022 titled “V” featuring the likes of Wizkid, The Cavemen and Amaarae. She is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most exposed musicians.

Innocent Ujah Idibia, born 18 September is known by his stage name 2Baba. He is a musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, humanitarian and activist. Noted for his vocal range, lyrical depth and longevity, he is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest musicians of all-time. He is most influential for the rise in popularity of Nigerian pop music in the 2000s and his solo debut album Face2Face with the smash hit “African Queen” ushered in a new wave of awareness and reverence for Nigerian music amongst Africans on the continent and in diaspora. He changed his stage name from 2face Idibia in July 2014 and in 2016 he officially changed his name from Tuface to 2baba. In June 2020, Idibia was appointed as the new Regional Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNCHR); he was the first Nigerian to receive this kind of appointment from UNHC.

Sam Adegoke
Samuel Oluwaseyi Adegoke is a Nigerian-American actor who is known for playing Jeff Colby in the Dynasty reboot series was born 20 September. In 2017, Adegoke was cast as a lead in the Lifetime biopic Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland playing Michael Jackson’s bodyguard Javon, he also recurred on Murder in the First and had guest spots on Code Black and NCIS: Los Angeles.

He was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the movie “The Assassin” at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2009 and a nomination for Best Actor in Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. He has starred in movies like Unforgiveable, The Duplex, Ropes of Fate, Brother Jekwu, Lagos Real Fake Life and Divorce Not Allowed.
