Controversial Highlights Of The 2019 Governorship And National Assembly Elections
The 2019 governorship and elections which held today, March 9 saw Nigerians visit their various polling units to choose their best candidates. However, Guardian Nigeria, as well as eyewitness accounts, reported low turnout at some polling units.
In addition to this, today’s elections drama was only slightly from the February 23 elections which saw the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari, emerge winner. From INEC recruiting ad-hoc staff today to the physically disabled man Charles Nnamani who claimed to have voted Buhari in the 2019 presidential elections being told by Pastor Mrs Remi Tinubu that the Igbos have lost their trust to a National Youth Service Corp member getting hit, here are some of the highlights of the elections:
As the presiding officer, I was about sending this boy away from the polling unit, when my APO 1 revealed to me the boy genuinely owns a PVC, I collected the card reader to confirm, Lo and behold the PVC was truly his!!
How on earth did @inecnigeria issued this PVC to this boy? pic.twitter.com/SQIa3yCOKr— Rotimi A. Segun🇳🇬 (@Iam_Dr_RAS) March 9, 2019

In Lagos, today’s governorship and house of assembly elections could be delayed in parts of Ejigbo, in Oshodi-Isolo LCDA, as INEC ad-hoc staff are currently protesting over the non-payment of their allowances. #TGNElectionWatch #NigeriaDecides2019 #NigeriaDecides #Nigeria #INEC pic.twitter.com/EEDTJQJI6W

It’s so disheartening how nobody wants to come out and vote in my estate. Officials ringing the bell all morning and begging people to come and vote, yet people have refused to come out. My polling unit is empty . 😞 What is happening? @DrJoeAbah @AMADICHIMA @segalink
