DC Studios Cancels Wonder Woman 3
According to reports, Wonder Woman 3 is no longer in production because DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, is taking a different course.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenkins recently turned in her treatment, which she co-wrote with Geoff Johns. However Gunn, Safran, as well as co-chairs and co-CEOs of Warner Bros. Pictures Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, broke the news to Jenkins, explaining that the project did not fit with the new (but still-developing) plans.
The first two films, starring Gal Gadot and released in 2017 and 2020, were directed and co-written by Jenkins. However no course of action has been determined.
The studio won’t have any onerous financial constraints, and by forgoing the third installment, it may be able to save tens of millions of dollars.
For Wonder Woman 3, Gadot was reportedly set to earn $20 million, while Jenkins would have received $12 million, according to insiders.
These numbers exclude any potential backend bonuses.
