The star’s wife Jodi Lister confirmed the news on social media he had tragically died on Monday, just 10 days after receiving a shock cancer diagnosis.

It grieves me to share the sad news that my husband, Michael Nader, passed away at home on August 23rd,” she wrote. He was diagnosed with untreatable cancer on Friday the 13th and died 10 days later with me and his best fur friend Storm by his side. His death and diagnosis were sudden and unexpected and I have never experienced such agony as watching my soul mate die before my eyes. He was loved by so many and treasured his fans and their letters and emails. He responded to them all. He was working on a book about his life and addiction before he passed. He had so many talents and skills and it’s hard to imagine living life without his beautiful and wonderful presence, joy, and laughter.

Michael Nader was born in Los Angeles and he started working in his teen years, landing his first role in the movie Beach Party in 1963; he played Beach Boy.

He starred in a host of movies before landing a recurring role as Siddo ion the TV series Gidget with Sally Field from 1965 until 1966.

In 1983 was when he became a household name when he joined the cast of Dynasty, where played the handsome husband of Joan Collins’ cunning villain, Alexis Carrington. He stayed with the show until it ended in 1989.

In 1991 he joined the series All My Children where he played Lucci’s handsome husband named Marick. He left the series in 1999 then came back the following year.

He also had guest-starring roles on hit shows like Law & Order: SVU and Cold Case.
