Exclusive Picks: Best Looks From The Runway #HeinekenLFDW2015 Day 1
The Lagos Fashion and Design Week has come to a close and it would not be appropriate if we do not share the looks that rocked us to our knees.
This list would start with the ever great Tiffany Amber Nigeria with pieces that barely touched the models but had a perfect fit as well as finishing, we also love the fact that Oluchi Orlandi closed Tiffany’s show.
Sophie Zingai
Sophie Zingai’s pieces spoke of class, details and African culture. Some of her pieces boasted of African fabrics, the theme of the old currency ‘Cowries’ was seen in the collection. Sophie Zingai had one of the best pieces on Day 1.
Kenneth Ize
Kenneth Ize had a beautiful collection that spoke stripes, cuts, prints and colours. The pieces are also androgynous in nature, as his models are male and female and the pieces work both ways on either party.
Grey
Grey’s collection was the fabric. As essential to what Grey is, they had fabrics that are always unique to Grey, the designs were properly finished, the cuts were classy and sexy. Grey had the less is more factor to their collection.
Maxivive
Maxivive you would say is not for the typical Nigerian, his pieces were artisan contemporary and eccentric. The styling of the pieces on the runway might not get to you, but the pieces individually are unique, properly finished and classic.
These designers stood out on the runway, from designs to finishing and then styling.
