The 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival kicks off today; Wednesday, 11th of May to run till Sunday, 22nd of May 2016. However, the festival won’t officially take off until tomorrow evening.

Here are a few things you should expect at this year’s Cannes Film Festival:

– The festival begins tonight with the red carpet screening of Woody Allen’s newest, Café Society, starring Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carell and Parker Posey.

– The festival’s opening night film is Café Society. The latest from Woody Allen is one of five movies at Cannes to have been funded by Amazon, making it a landmark year for the company. Café Society is a quintessential Hollywood story—in the 1930s, a young man (Jesse Eisenberg) moves to L.A. to make it in the pictures, falls in love, gets swept up, existential questions ensue—and its placement at the front of the heaps means that we get to see Lively and Stewart on the red carpet right off the bat.

-Australian director George Miller has been announced as the President of the Jury for the main competition. French actor Laurent Lafitte has been announced as the host for the opening and closing ceremonies.

-Xavier Dolan, Canadian wunderkind, Adele whisperer, and Louis Vuitton campaign star, is bringing his latest film, It’s Only the End of the World, to Cannes. It stars Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux and Gaspard Ulliel, and given Dolan’s talent and new popularity, it may become one of the more hotly contested foreign film titles at the festival.

And lots of lots of more others fun things.

As we await several stunning red carpet outfits that we will see in the next 12 days; here is a throw back on the adorable few gowns from previous sessions:
