What To Know About The Recently Announced iPhone SE
Apple recently announced the new iPhone SE and it has been generating a lot of buzz because of its good value.
The second-generation iPhone SE was announced at $399 and boasts of the iPhone 8’s body, the iPhone 11’s processor, and the iPhone XR’s camera system with a few new capabilities.
The new iPhone SE isn’t called the iPhone 9, as some had expected, as the company has decided to the SE moniker first used in 2016.
Here is what you need to know about the iPhone SE:
Release date and price
Set for release on Friday April 24, the base model comes with 64GB of storage at $399. For those in need of higher storage, the phone also comes with 128GB and 256GB models for a higher price.
iPhone SE 2020 design and display
The iPhone SE boasts of a similar design to iPhone 8 so if you are already familiar with this, you already know what the iPhone SE looks like. The most important thing to know about the SE’s value proposition is simply that it has the A13 Bionic processor. It has a 4.7-inch display, Touch ID, single-lens rear camera, 3GB RAM (Apple hasn’t confirmed this) and comes in red, white and black colours.
This is expected to be the same as on the original iPhone 8. It has wireless charging and can be fast-charged.
A lot of importance was placed on the new iPhone SE 2020 camera. There’s a single-lens 12-megapixel rear camera in the iPhone SE with an f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, and support for Portrait Mode and Portrait Lighting. Night Mode is not supported, but there is Smart HDR, Wide color support, and more, plus an LED True Tone flash with Slow Sync capabilities. The iPhone SE’s camera can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second with optical image stabilization and support for slow-mo video and time-lapse video. The front-facing camera supports Portrait Mode as well using the image signal processor and Neural Engine of the A13 Bionic.
The new iPhone SE has Wi-fi 6, for speedy connections, which wasn’t on the original iPhone SE, as is Apple Pay Express Transit.
