Nigerian filmmaker Bukola Ogunsola has unveiled the official trailer for her latest work, Something About The Briggs, which is scheduled for release in cinemas, on January 31st 2025.
Following the success of her previous feature films, Happy Father’s Day and Another Father’s Day, the filmmaker recently shared the news on Instagram with excitement.
“Here is the moment we have all been waiting for. With a heart full of gratitude and praise to God, I present to you the OFFICIAL POSTER of Something About the Briggs. Written, Produced, and Directed by Yours Truly. Something About the Briggs is a love, marriage, and family-focused film. I’m so excited for you to see all of your favourite stars like you’ve never seen them before! I would say save the date, but clear your calendar is more like it! It’s SATB Season Family! Let’s go!” she said.
Although this marks her first time combining roles as writer, producer, and director, Ogunsola is no stranger to the film industry. With training from prestigious institutions like the London Film Academy, Met Film School, New York Film Academy, and Prague Film Institute, Ogunsola has spent nearly a decade honing her craft.
She began her filmmaking journey in 2015, writing her first screenplay, The Perfect Plan, for Africa Magic. Since then, she has written, directed, and produced projects, including Another Father’s Day, which saw a nationwide cinema release in 2019 and is now streaming on Amazon Prime.

Teasing the upcoming film, Ogunsola revealed key members of her production team, including Chuchu Kobi-Ajulu as Director of Photography, Bisola Omolade as Art Director, Uvi Jaydar as Assistant Director, Duke Oluwadamilare as Production Manager, Yolande Okereke as Costume Designer, and Temitope Alamode as Makeup Artist.
“It seemed impossible at first, but today, we’re closer to the finish line. Super grateful to God for His help and to everyone who has supported us on this journey. #SomethingAboutTheBriggs is coming! Special update coming this week!” she continued.
Directed by Bukola Ogunsola, Something About the Briggs boasts a star-studded cast, including Daniel Etim Effiong, Ariyike Dimples, Norbert Young, Gloria Young, Rita Dominic, Iyabo Ojo, Bukky Wright, Stan Nze, Kenneth Okolie, Kalu Ikeagwu, Linda Ejiofor, Kanaga Jnr, Elma Mbadiwe, Simi Drey, Tubosun Aiyedehin, Zack Orji, and Liz Benson-Ameye.
