Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, has announced her return to acting after recovering from breast cancer.

In a video shared on Instagram on Monday, the 39-year-old became emotional as she thanked her fans, colleagues and supporters for their encouragement and prayers during her health challenge.

She described the experience as a turning point in her life, explaining that it had led to a rebranding of her career and renewed passion for inspiring others.

“Dear beloved fans, supporters, and loved ones, I’m Temitope Osoba, and after my cancer experience, I’m excited to announce my reintroduction. This journey has been a turning point, leading to my rebranding, reshaping, and rebuilding. I’m emerging stronger, more resilient, and more passionate about sharing my story and inspiring others,” she said.

According to Osoba, she discovered a lump in her breast in late 2024 during a self-examination. Although an initial check suggested it was hormonal, further medical tests confirmed it was cancer when the lump increased in size.
She underwent surgery in November 2024 to remove the tumour, and her doctors later recommended a second operation to clear remaining cancer cells. The estimated cost of the treatment was ₦12 million, prompting her to publicly appeal for financial assistance.

Colleagues including Foluke Daramola and Alesh Sanni joined in amplifying her appeal online, with donations helping to fund the initial procedure. Follow-up scans later showed the cancer had not spread, making chemotherapy unnecessary. She was placed on radiation therapy and was eventually declared cancer-free.

The actress, known for her roles in Yoruba films such as Ile Owo, Omo Iya Kan and Gucci Girls, said she now plans to use her platform to promote cancer awareness and support others facing similar health battles. She also announced that she is open to new acting roles, endorsements and collaborations.
