Watch: Temi Otedola In Teaser For Kunle Afolayan’s New Film “Citation”
“Citation” narrates the ordeals faced by a female postgraduate student who is forced to find a way to deal with an awkward situation of sexual harassment from a popular male lecturer. Temi Otedola, the fashion designer and daughter of Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, marks her debut in the Nigerian film industry as she plays the lead character Moremi.
“The storyline is something relatable and relevant to what’s happening today, not only in Nigeria, but all over the world. So, it’s a story that’s close to my heart. I felt I could really bring that character to life,” Temi said about playing the lead role.
Gabriel Afolayan who will be appearing in his brother’s film for the first time said, “I’m super glad to be part of this, and not judging from the aspect of him being my brother, this is about the subject matter, it’s one of those things we need to address. Not just talk about it but to proffer solutions. I don’t like celebrating problems. We may say that Nigeria is bad, but do you have a solution? talk about it, talk more on solutions.”
The star-studded film stars the Chairman of First Bank Nigeria, Ibukun Awosika (acting debut); Temi Otedola (acting debut); Joke Silva; Haitian-French actor and model, Jimmy Jean-Louis; Ini Edo; Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang; Sadiq Daba; Yomi Fash; French-Ivorian actor and screenwriter, Raymond Reboul, alongside Afrobeat artiste, Seun Kuti (acting debut).
