Whoever said traditional wears should be the uniform for Friday was not wrong. It is an unspoken rule in Nigeria but on Fridays, it is a culture for us to wear traditional attires and rock them as creatively and casually as possible.

As a result, we see people in their various workplaces showing up with gorgeous traditional attire.

Here are a few tips on how to rock native Friday:

Go colourful

You cannot really go wrong with a splash of colour in your traditional attire especially if there are in the right and match your skin tone. Men can go for daring colours like pink and women can have a mix.

Go casual

Apart from the overall look of the native you are wearing, you could look casual and effortless with the right footwear. Sandals are a good choice for this. Ladies could rock theirs with a wedge, simple flats and men could go for loafers.

Go for the asoebi

Turn the Friday to an Owambe Saturday and team up with a colleague to slay together.

Be deliberate. Go to church with your Friday outfit and hold nothing back, just have heads turn at the office.

Have a mix of both worlds

You could twerk things up a bit and have a mix of what is English and what is traditional. Maybe the pants, jacket, or shirt could be traditional or vice versa. You could also have this mix by throwing on a denim or rocking sneakers.
