New Naira Notes Scarcity
Many Nigerians are struggling to obtain the new naira due to the scarcity of the new currency. There are long lines at banks, and POS agents are charging expensive fees for the new naira note this has led to the frustration of businesses. Despite the extension of the deadline by the CBN, the scarcity of the new naira notes has worsened as Nigerians have been finding it difficult to get cash from counters in banks in many parts of the country. Some bankers bemoaned the fact that they had not yet received a sufficient amount of the new Naira notes to meet the rising demand from their customers. It was so bad that even some business owners had to close their shops due to the scarcity of the new naira note. We hope and pray that CBN will assist in resolving the problems.
