Gucci has collaborated with Interscope Records to release a special edition vinyl collection of Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy Award-winning album, ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’.

The limited-edition collection features cover art designed by contemporary artist Lauren Halsey, who pays homage to songs from the original album and classic street art in Lamar’s hometown.

The set, which includes a double LP wrapped in a custom Gucci-designed tan linen vinyl jacket, is priced at $2,500 and only 100 copies are being sold. All net profits from the collection will be donated to the Iovine and Young Foundation.

Lamar originally named the album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ to challenge the idea of being exploited in the industry and the community, and to share his new outlook on life and the music industry after a trip to South Africa.

The full-length album includes 16 songs and features collaborations with artists such as George Clinton, Snoop Dogg, and Thundercat.

‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ was nominated for multiple awards, including two Grammys, an NME Award for Best Album, and a Danish Music Award for International Album. Lamar has since gone on to win 17 Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and several BET and Billboard awards during his 13-year career.
