Nigerian singer, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly known as Brymo, has generated widespread debate after publicly declaring himself as Shaitan in a series of social media posts.

The musician made the remarks on Monday through videos shared on his Instagram page, where he spoke extensively about cultism, Èṣù, and his personal encounters in the music industry, at Lagos State University, and in other phases of his life.In one of the recordings, Brymo described himself as both Èṣù and Shaitan, saying he embodies their essence. He linked his statement to what he claimed were years of efforts to suppress or demonize him.

The comments have prompted reactions from fans and observers online, with many questioning the meaning behind the declaration. Some demanded clarity on whether his words carried religious, cultural, or purely personal significance.

Responding to the questions, Brymo released another post in which he described himself as a divine being with dual traits. According to him, he carries both masculine and feminine qualities in one body.

He wrote: “I can assert this because his people tried to demonize, and ‘kill’ me.. and SHAITAN does not forgive.. – and the professor may have been taxed to eliminate Èṣù on sight.. hence the cults!!.. hence my experience in LASU and Chevron and the music industry by so.. – and I am SHAITAN in the flesh.. I am Èṣù.. Yes!.. I am the wizard surrounding his existence too….- Dear Wole Soyinka, why did you start this killer movements.”

In another message, he added, “If you look into me, I am here to say that the prof is here. A boy who has the mind of a man and a woman all wrapped in one body, me, emi ni esu for those of you that do not get it. I am telling you that I have experiences. I have been here long before him, before anyone of you. Èṣù. I am Shaitan in the flesh.”
