I hope to become another Basketmouth someday, says comedian Oyetunji

A Nigerian stand up comedian and motivational speaker, Bajulaiye Oyetunji, has said that he hopes to walk in the shoes of ace comedian, Basketmouth, in the nearest future.

Comedian Oyetunji, who spoke at his base in Lagos, as he hosted friends to a party, said he was inspired by Basketmouth’s consistency and creativity in the entertainment industry.

Oyetunji said, Basketmouth in the past years has been his mentor, and following him has given him inspiration to equally grow in the entertainment industry.

He described the Nigerian comedy industry as a fast growing area in the entertainment sector, and such a terrain where comedians are up to speed to meet up with the demands of the sector.

“We entertain the public, and bring joy to many faces, and that is why we are loved by the public. My mentor has spent years in this industry, aside me, there are hundreds of comedians that look up to him for mentorship, and he has really lived beyond expectations in living an exemplary life for others to emulate,” Oyetunji said.

He said he will not relent in his desire to build a legacy, and a sustaining one in the industry, and such would help him to create a bigger impact that generations will also benefit from.

“I look forward to creating a bigger impact in the society through entertainment, and hitting the stage beyond what my mentor has achieved,” Oyetunji said.
