Self-belief, confidence and direction of purpose are some of the greatest assets any individual can possess in the journey of life. All the riches in the world cannot suffice for them, as they are the true friends that stay with us in the most difficult period of rejection.

Men might be physically stronger than women, but the female folks have a stronger mental fortitude and resolve. All these have been aptly displayed by Bukonla Ifedayo Esan, fondly referred to as Bukkykoga, who is the celebrated founder of BKGlam Group, which comprises event-planning outfit, BKGlam Events, and the fashion and styling subsidiary, BKGlam International.

Having been raised in a polygamous family, becoming an entrepreneur and succeeding  was the only thing on the mind of Bukkykoga.

Though she studied Business Administration and Human Resources at Plymouth University and graduated in 2013, the Lagos-born entreprenuer launched into business two years later. Today, the group has gone global. BKGlam Events organises world-class events in the United Kingdom and across the world. BKGlam International is also a force to reckon with on the international stage with its mind-blowing designs.

Bukkykoga recently reflected on her days of little beginning, and recollected how she was turned down when she need help.

“I am thankful for those that said no to me. It’s because of then I’m doing it myself,” she wrote on Instagram.

Speaking to a select set of journalists recently, she played up her own credentials and explained how she got to where she is today.

“While growing my ambition in life was to become a very successful entrepreneur, though it has not been easy running multiple businesses, I bet being successful comes with hard work and sleepless nights,” said Bukkykoga.

“I have done numerous businesses, I have planned weddings for a little fee or none as part of upcoming planner sacrifices, also having to style some difficult clients wasn’t an easy task. But I’m thankful for today.

“I am a well-trained event planner and fashion guru. I handle lots of events in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. I have also styled a few well-known Nigerian celebrities like Toyin Abraham, Kemi Afolabi, Queenola and Dr Ololade Abuta among others,”

Bukkykoga added: “As we have outlined on our website, we plan, design and manage exceptional celebrations throughout the world, from small intimate gatherings to large and lavish affairs, our weddings and parties are memorable, magical experiences, perfectly planned and beautifully executed.”
