Instagram Gets A Shiny New Makeover

For a couple of years now, Instagram has become a large part of our lives. We can barely go anywhere, do or eat anything without feeling the urge to share a picture or two of these happenings with the community of followers we have built on the platform. Just as we have grown, the app has too, regulaly introducing new features that make sharing our visual stories easier, more fun and very interactive, and even changing their logo and appearance a couple of times. Yesterday, May 11th, instagram got yet another makeover.

What Inspired Instagram’s New Look?

According to Instagram, the new look is inspied by how diverse the instagram community has become – both in reach and in creativity. I guess that’s why the colour of the new logo is a gradianet of bright colours.

The Instagram community has evolved over the past five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more — a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day. And that’s not all:

The app’s three creative add-ons – Layout, Boomerang and Hyperlapse – also got touched by the change.

So, are there any internal changes to the app? According to the announcement, there are to be some internal changes to the app’s appearance as well. These changes will not affect how one currently navigates the app, but will put more emphasis on posted media.

My guess is this update is going to be one of those ones that slowly rollout across the world and don’t require you to actually navigate to the app store to get it.
