Mad Melon Of “Danfo Driver” Fame Has Passed Away
Nigerian reggae artist, Omeofa Oghene, better known by his stage name Mad Melon has passed away.
Mad Melon passed away on Wednesday, September 25 in a Lagos hospital after battling with an undisclosed illness.
The news of the reggae artist’s death was made known this morning by music legend, Daddy Showkey in a video on his Instagram page.
“Can somebody tell me that is not true that we just lost Mad Melon DANFO Driver pls”, Showkey captioned.
“What kind of sad news is this, what kind of sad news is this, what kind of sad news is this,” Daddy Showkey lamented in the video.
“Oh my God, we just lost somebody, I just heard it just now. I’m not happy at all, I’m not happy. When dem go dey tell people make dem dey hear, make dem dey hear.”

Mad Melon was one half of the popular music duo, Danfo Drivers. Mad Melon along with his partner Mountain Black came to limelight in 2003 with the release of their hit song “Danfo Driver”.
