Mawuko Kuadzi- “Beast Of No Nation” Star Strika Always Absconds
Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye popularly known as Strika in Beast of No Nation reportedly said that he has now become a hawker at the Kaneshie yam market for a living. He also stated that, unlike his peers, the reason for his suffering is because he has not been given his money from his role in the film.
However, Abraham Attah’s (Agu) manager Mawuko Kuadzi claims otherwise while adding that he is on holiday from school in Accra.
A director and actor, he told Hitz@1 media during an interview that the Quaye runs away from school sometimes because “he misses the street”.
“There are measures but he finds a way to escape. The school has done a lot yet he still escapes, the last time he signed an undertaking that if he runs away, he should be expelled from the school [yet he absconded]”
The education of the orphan is at stake as Mawuko was unable to tell at the time of the interview if Strika will be readmitted to his school”.
Speaking on the 1% share to be given to him, Mawuko said,
“…So the film sold and 1% ($30,000) was given to him and 1% was given to Abraham, his actually was put in an account with two signees, Joey and Popi, who worked on the film. The money is still in the account; there is a plan which he knows. The money has not been touched, it is still lying there for him and he has been told when he turns 18 he has the right to the money,” Mawuko revealed.
“It is not as if we do not care, we are bothered, we have tried all that we can to make sure he is comfortable. He was living on the street even though he had relatives…n we found him and put in school”.
