Meagan Good and her husband DeVon Franklin are reportedly ending their marriage. According to reports, Franklin filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Monday at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse to end their 9-year marriage.
In a joint statement to PEOPLE, the couple explained, “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected.”

They continued, “We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault. We believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love,” adding that they are “incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”

The actress, 40, and the motivational speaker, 43, got married in 2012 after they met while working on the 2011 film, “Jumping the Broom”. The reason for the split is unknown at the time of writing.

Interestingly, Meagan’s husband took to his Instagram a few weeks ago to support his wife’s new Amazon Prime series, “Harlem”. He also shared a trailer from the show with his 1.5 million followers on the photo-sharing app, hence the divorce announcement came as a shock to many.

He wrote in the caption “Gushing about Good”,

‘I’m so proud of my love @Meagangood! She’s one of the most talented actors on the planet AND she’s funnier than you may know but I’m so glad you finally get a chance to see her do it all as Camille Parks in the new Amazon show #Harlem @Harlemonprime!!’

Meagan responded in the comments to say: ‘My Loooove… thank you. Heart’ah’smilin. Love you!’

The papers were filed by the Hollywood producer at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
The couple was famously known to be outspoken about their celibacy journey before getting married in 2012
While as a husband and wife, they co-authored a book called “The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life” and “The Life You Love”.

The soon to be ex-husband Devon Franklin has been promoting his new book “Live Free” and his new show, “Kingdom Business”.
