Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, thrilled a massive crowd in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as he kicked off the Nigerian leg of his 5ive Tour with a high-energy performance.

The concert held late Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium drew thousands of excited fans across the South-South region and beyond.

Many began arriving hours before the show, filling the stadium grounds and singing along to Davido’s songs as DJs kept the atmosphere lively before his stage entrance.

Davido mounted the stage with loud cheers as the crowd screamed his name. He performed hit tracks including With You, Aye, Unavailable, Feel, Holy Ground, and his breakout anthem Omo Baba Olowo.

Each track was met with excitement as fans raised their phones and chanted the lyrics word for word.

Concert-goers described the night as electric and memorable, noting that the stage lighting, live band arrangement and overall performance quality matched what Davido delivered during his North American tour.

Ahead of the show, Davido paid courtesy visits to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, at the Government House, Uyo.

The visits focused on entertainment development, youth involvement in the creative sector and Akwa Ibom’s growing capacity to host high-profile events.

The singer arrived in the state alongside members of his team, including his manager, Asa Asika, and nightlife promoter, Cubana Chief Priest.

Speaking to newsmen before the concert, Akpabio expressed delight that the 5ive Tour was kicking off in Uyo.
He said, “I’m happy Davido started the tour in Akwa Ibom, we have the facilities and we have entertainment loving people.”

Davido had earlier spoken about bringing the tour home after completing its North American leg.
In his post announcing the Nigerian schedule, he wrote that performing in Nigeria carried a personal meaning for him.

He said, “I’m blessed to perform all around the world, and everywhere I go — Nigeria goes with me. But this time, I’m bringing it home. This one’s for the culture. This one’s personal. This one’s for us.”

The 5ive Tour will continue in Yola on October 29, Enugu on November 1, Ibadan on November 9, and is expected to conclude with a grand homecoming show in Lagos on December 25.

The event also featured performances from Nasboi and Cubana Chief Priest, who energized fans ahead of Davido’s performance.
