Award-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has slammed body-shamers over persistent online remarks about her physique.

She made the statement on Tuesday while responding to a fan post that mocked her physique and claimed she only had “big laps not actual ass.”

According to the “Essence” singer, people have spent years making unnecessary comments about her backside.

In her words, “Okay 7 years in. It’s time to pack it up. I never thought I’d need to say it but you are all weird… Dog, it’s mine.”

Tems added that she has never hidden her body and doesn’t owe anyone an explanation.

She dismissed users who demand she “show bumbum,” noting, “Nah, show ME yours first?? See how that feels? It’s just a body. I will add and lose weight.”

The post, shared via her official X handle, has since gained over 1.2 million views, sparking widespread support across social media.

She further stated, “The more you don’t like my body, the better for me actually. But it’s enough now. Move on from my bum.”

Tems is one of Nigeria’s biggest music exports, known globally for her hits like “Free Mind” and “Me & U”, and her Grammy-winning collaboration on “Essence” with Wizkid.
