US rapper Nicki Minaj and R&B singer SZA clashed in a messy online fight Tuesday night, with both stars exchanging jabs on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The drama started when Minaj accused Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) President, Punch, of bullying.
SZA, who is signed to the label, posted a cryptic message urging people not to fall for bait — a post that Minaj clearly took personal.
In response, the Super Bass rapper went on a fiery rant, calling SZA “ugly” and mocking her voice, saying she sounds like “a f**king dead frog.”
Minaj, who felt the post was aimed at her, even though SZA later explained it wasn’t directed at anyone in particular.
Still, the 41-year-old rapper didn’t back down. She fired back with a string of posts comparing their music careers, claiming she had performed in parts of the world where SZA’s name means nothing.
“Wait. Does SZA think she’s more successful than me? Lol y’all catch me up pls. SZA, if every song you’ve ever done vanished right now, the music business wouldn’t even miss you. I’ve been to countries that never heard of you,” she tweeted.
Minaj also questioned SZA’s musical legacy and global reach, mocking her stage presence and reliance on auto-tune.
“Stadiums? Did you look at the venues I played on my own headlined festival tour out of the country last year? Btch, have you ever headlined to 80K ppl?” she wrote. “Btch, what have you ever done besides yodel with auto-tune that needed retuning? Boo, I’m an icon. You’re not. The end.”
In another post, she accused SZA of staying silent when her label boss allegedly harassed her: “Why didn’t u speak up when your exec was bullying & harassing me, ya dirty mangy cunt?”
SZA, however, didn’t engage further and simply stated she was unbothered by the drama.
The back-and-forth has sparked massive reactions online, with fans of both stars defending their faves using #TeamNicki and #ProtectSZA.
