GOSPEL singer, Oluwakemi Aina has returned to music with the launch of her second album, Ayomitide, following a 14-year gap since her first album, Olulana, was released in 2012.

The five-track album was launched at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke Igbala, Ketu, Lagos, where church leaders, members of the Sanctified Voices band and other guests gathered to support the singer.
Speaking at the launch, Aina said the album was inspired by the challenges she faced after releasing her first project and her gratitude to God for giving her another opportunity to continue her music ministry.
She said the title, Ayomitide, reflected her belief that God had shown her mercy and favour despite the difficulties she experienced over the years.

“It was about 13 years since I did the first album. There was a bit of a delay before releasing the next one. There were challenges and a lot that I cannot mention,” she said.
Aina said the process of recording and releasing the album was demanding, citing financial constraints and the physical challenges she faced along the way.

However, she said her passion for music and faith in God helped her complete the project.
The singer also noted that the new album differed from her first release because of the wider reach offered by digital platforms.
According to her, her songs were not available online when she released Olulana in 2012. The new album, however, is available on platforms including YouTube and Audiomack, making it easier for listeners to access her music.
The album features five tracks: Ayomitide, Mokio, Iyin ni mo mu wa, Praise Medley and Psalm 23. Aina also said her older songs are now available online.

Looking ahead, the singer said she planned to produce music videos for songs on the new album, explaining that her first album did not have accompanying videos. She noted that the project would require additional funding.
Aina also used the occasion to encourage people living with disabilities to pursue their ambitions despite the challenges they might face.
She cited her experience of attending university, working in different offices, getting married and raising two children as examples of what she had achieved despite being physically challenged.

“You are only physically challenged. It does not affect who you are,” she said.
She urged people living with disabilities to believe in themselves, remain confident and continue to pursue their goals.
During his speech, the chairman of the planning committee, elder Femi Ajayi thanked the church leadership for supporting the album launch and providing the venue. He also commended the Sanctified Voices band for standing by Aina throughout the preparations.
Citing Psalm 133:1, Ajayi stressed the importance of unity and encouraged members to support one another in developing their God-given talents.
