Singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has criticised the organisers of the Headies Awards after losing the Next Rated category to rapper Odumodublvck.

The 17th Headies awards was held on Sunday at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.

Taking to his official X page on Monday, Shallipopi expressed displeasure with the outcome of the event, despite winning the Best Rap Single category for Cast, his collaboration with Odumodublvck.

Odumodublvck clinched the Next Rated award, ahead of fellow nominees Shallipopi, Qing Madi, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi. The award was presented by singer Davido.

Reacting to the development, Shallipopi wrote: “Mtchewwww, The next one if una see me make I bend.”

He added: “I nor go even lie for una sef, I nor want that award give the real rappers wey dey the category, me Shallipopi I nor be rapper. Make everybody relax jorrrrr, before I cut chain.”

Shallipopi, who recently marked his 24th birthday, is known for songs such as Elon Musk and Evil Receive.

His comments have since triggered mixed reactions online, with fans and critics sharing different views on his remarks.
