Nigerian singer, Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, has announced the passing of his father, Mr Esegine Samson.

The music artiste shared the news on Tuesday through a post on his official Instagram page, describing the loss as deeply painful and overwhelming.

In his message, Orezi referred to his late father as his “guardian angel, greatest cheerleader, mentor and role model,” adding that the news left him shattered and heartbroken.

He wrote, “Death a debt we all must pay. In the last couple of hours, my world came crashing down. Death has taken away my guardian angel, my greatest cheerleader, my mentor and my role model. I am shattered, confused, sad and heartbroken.

“A type of pain I have never experienced in my entire life. This feels like a dream and so unreal. Somebody pinch me. Daddy, please wake up. Oh my sweet daddy, I can’t believe you’re gone. I have cried and cried but yet these tears continue to flow. DEATH, YOU DO ME THIS ONE. Till we meet again to part no more. I love you forever, Daddy. God is the greatest.

“My dear fans and friends, please say a prayer for me and my family in this difficult time.”

Orezi, who hails from Delta State, rose to prominence with his breakout single “Rihanna” and has since built a career with several successful songs.

As of the time of filing this report, details of the funeral arrangements had not been made public.
