Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has been accused of harassment, cyberstalking, and emotional abuse by a woman whose identity was not revealed.
In a public statement released on Friday, October 25, 2025, through her lawyer, Taiwo Akinsulie, Jane Doe alleged that the rapper subjected her to months of intimidation and humiliation after she declined his romantic advances.
According to the statement, the harassment included blackmail, bullying, and invasion of privacy. The lawyer claimed that Blaqbonez unlawfully obtained and circulated private indecent videos of Jane Doe without her consent.
“Our client wishes to bring to public attention the prolonged and deeply distressing harassment, cyberstalking, bullying, and threats she has suffered at the hands of Mr. Emeka Akumefule,” the statement read.
The statement further alleged that despite Jane Doe’s repeated attempts to ask the rapper to stop, he continued to intimidate and spread false information about her. This, according to her lawyer, has caused significant mental and emotional trauma, leaving her fearful for her safety and affecting her ability to work freely in Lagos.
The lawyer said that Jane Doe has filed a petition with the Nigeria Police Force, urging authorities to take action under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Akinsulie added that legal documents had been served to Blaqbonez’s residence and phone number twice in the past nine months, but the alleged harassment continued.
“This matter is now in the hands of law enforcement, and we trust that the appropriate authorities will investigate thoroughly and act in accordance with the law,” the statement read.
The statement also mentioned that the threats and false claims spread by the rapper had damaged Jane Doe’s reputation and mental well-being. She reportedly lives in fear due to the nature of the messages and actions directed at her.
Jane Doe’s legal team said the decision to go public came after months of silence and failed attempts to resolve the matter privately. They added that the public statement was necessary to protect their client from further harassment and to ensure accountability.
They further urged the public and media to respect Jane Doe’s privacy while the investigation continues, noting that the matter is now before law enforcement and will follow due legal process.
As of the time of filing this report, Blaqbonez has not publicly responded to the allegations.
