Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has once again stirred reactions online after making a playful remark about her husband and Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day.

Marking the country’s 65th anniversary, the actress took to her Instagram page to share a video where she said, ‘Nigeria is 65, that’s a big number. It’s older than my husband.

Daniels, who is married to businessman and politician Ned Nwoko, went on to recall her childhood memories of the holiday. She said she remembered when the streets used to be flooded with children dressed in white and green to celebrate Independence Day, a tradition that has faded over time.

While her nostalgic note resonated with some followers, others were more focused on her cheeky reference to her husband’s age. One Instagram user, @Akanwa_Chioma, dropped a blunt reaction: “Girl rest.” Another, @instaanaija, seemed carried away by the nostalgia, commenting, “I remember those days,” in reference to the children’s parades, which they suggested were probably most common around 2010.

Not everyone was amused. One user, @akugz_k, suggested that Regina might be shading her husband too often through humour, writing: “Regina if you have plan B, tell us. The rate at which you are insulting your husband through jokes is alarming”

Still, many fans saw the post as typical Regina, playful, and unbothered by what critics might say.
