Nigerians React To Aisha Alhassan “Mama Taraba”s Resignation As Minister
Following the drama rocking the primaries and Osun election in Nigeria, Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba has resigned from her position as the Minister of Women Affairs under the President Muhammadu Buhari cabinet.
This is coming after she was disqualified from the APC Taraba governorship primaries. According to her letter, “no reason was given for her disqualification” yet Nigerians claim that her disqualification is linked to her open support for former vice president and president hopeful Atiku Abubakar.
Since the letter was made public, Nigerians have been reacting to the news.
See some of them below:
Funny how @OfficialAPCNg was so quick to tell us that Adebayo Shittu was screened out of the Oyo gubernatorial race cos he did not do NYSC (something Nigerians pressured them to) but remain mute on the sins of Mama Taraba et al.

By Monday, EFCC would have found the 250 HB pencils Mama Taraba allegedly stole in 1992 and they’ll start chasing her around for the ✏s

Being a female leader in Nigeria is HARD. You need to work ten times as hard to be considered half as good. Mama Taraba has resigned from both the ruling party and her ministerial appointment; which makes me sad.
I wish her well in her future endeavors.

Nigerian politics is ruthless. Mama Taraba spoke. Many expected her to resign or be fired, but nothing happened. Meanwhile, these guys were waiting to hit her where it hurt most & where recovery, if at all it happens, won’t take less than 4 years. Affects their chances -vely too

I love what happened to Mama Taraba; loyalty in politics is a must! You cant eat your cake and have it…. She can now prove her loyalty to her boss Atiku Abubakar….

What is the fuss about Mama Taraba’s disqualification. Must we play around everything. This woman publicly declared support for Atiku while her principal is still active. Her disqualification should not come as a surprise.
