Cindy, who portrayed the character Adaora in the film, co-starred alongside Uzomaka Aniunoh from MTV Shuga. The movie, directed by Nyaiedu Ikpe-Etim, the sister of Nse Ikpe-Etim, touched the hearts of many with its powerful portrayal of love in challenging circumstances.
The movie’s official page expressed its deep sorrow, saying, “We are greatly, deeply, and unbelievably saddened to learn about the passing of Cindy Amadi, who played Adaora in #féthemovie.” They remembered Cindy as a talented actress who brought her magic to the set, forever changing the lives of those she worked with. The statement also highlighted her dedication to her craft and her bright career, tragically cut short by her untimely passing.
Pamela Adie, a fellow producer, also paid tribute to Cindy on her Instagram story, expressing her regret that they couldn’t complete the sequel they had planned together. “This wasn’t the idea, Cindy,” lamented Pamela. “You were thrilled when I assured you we would create the sequel. I’m sorry we couldn’t complete it in time. But we will complete it…for you. Rest in Peace for now,” she said.
“Ìfé” is a compelling love story that revolves around Ìfé and Adaora, two Nigerian women who fall in love during a three-day date and face the challenges of being in a lesbian relationship in Nigeria. The movie has resonated with audiences for its powerful portrayal of love’s resilience.
Cindy Amadi’s passing comes at a time when the entertainment industry is still mourning the death of Singer Mohbad, who passed away earlier this week.
