Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Prepare For Archie’s Christening
The royal’s couple first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born last month. Archie’s christening will come a year after his mother was baptized.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who held Markle’s ceremony, is expected to do the same for her child. According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to follow royal traditions for the event.
This includes bringing the royal family’s Lily Font, a silver gilt baptismal font also commissioned by Queen Victoria, that has been present at christenings since the 1840s.
Archie himself will be dressed in a silk gown previously worn by royal children George, Charlotte and Louis.
Harry and Meghan may use a sample of water from the River Jordan for the baptism. The Middle Eastern river is said to be where Jesus himself was baptized.
