Nollywood thriller Skeleton Coast has failed to win any award at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), despite being nominated in eight categories.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday in Lagos.
The film had been nominated for Best Movie, Best Director, Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Writing (Movie), Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Music Score.
But it lost out in all categories to other top contenders.
Freedom Way won Best Movie and Best Writing, while Seven Doors and Lisabi: The Uprising also picked up multiple awards, including acting and technical honours.
The AMVCA, organised by MultiChoice and Africa Magic, celebrates excellence in African film, television, and digital storytelling.
This year’s edition recognised films released between January and December 2024.
Skeleton Coast, though heavily nominated, has now joined the list of Nollywood films that failed to convert nominations into wins at the AMVCA.
