Sound Of Music Star, Heather Menzies-Urich, Dies
This is a sad time for actors in the Sound of Music musical.
Heather Menzies-Urich who played the role of Louisa von Trapp, the third-oldest of the von Trapp children in the 1965 movie, The Sound of Music, is dead. She died on Sunday In Frankford, Ontario at the age of 68.
Her son, Ryan Urich, said she was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.
She was 14 when she landed the role of her Sounds of Music which is her first film.
Charmian Carr, who played the eldest von Trapp daughter, Liesl, in the movie, died in September last year.
The award-winning movie is an adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein II’s 1959 Broadway Musical and is based on the biography of Maria von Trapp titled, The Story Of The Trapp Family Singers.
