‘The Professor’ Thumbs Up Ikorodu Bois’ Imitation Of “Money Heist” Trailer

Nigerian internet sensation, Ikorodu Bois have earned praise from “The Professor” after replicating the trailer of the Netflix Spanish drama series, Money Heist.

Ikorodu Bois recently created and shared their own shot-by-shot replica of the trailer of Money Heist season 4.  The video, which went viral on social media, gained the attention of Spanish actor Álvaro Morte, the lead character who goes by the name The Professor or Salvador “Salva” Martín in Money Heist.

Quoting the Ikorodu Bois’ video, The Professor said:
“What an amazing job!!! Congrats!! Thanks a lot for this. You all are the very best!!”

The film series’ official Twitter handle also praised the video:
“Welcome to the gang”, @lacasadepapel tweeted along with a clap emoji and flag of Nigeria.

The Ikorodu Bois have gained fame for mimicking music videos and film trailers.

Earlier this month, US actor and rapper Will Smith shared a clip of the boys’ version of the “Bad Boys Forever” trailer with his 43.9 million Instagram followers, along with the caption: “Looks like we got stunt doubles for the next one, @martinlawrence!! This is GENIUS @ikorodu_bois!!”

The Ikorodu Bois have recreated videos featuring celebrities such as Roddy Rich, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Zlatan, Funke Akindele, Wizkid and Davido.

Money Heist has received several awards including best drama series at the 46th International Emmy Awards, as well as critical acclaim for its sophisticated plot, interpersonal dramas, direction, and for trying to innovate Spanish television. The Italian anti-fascist song “Bella ciao,” which plays multiple times throughout the series, became a summer hit across Europe in 2018. By 2018, the series was the most-watched non-English language series and one of the most-watched series overall on Netflix.
