Korean pop, shortened and popularly known as ‘K-pop’ is quickly taking over the world and the music industry. K-pop has become a global phenomenon with boy groups, girl groups, solo acts, all churning out unique sounds.

Below are 3 of the most influential K-pop boy groups to follow;

BTS
Arguably the biggest act from South Korea, BTS have stamped themselves in the history books and it is safe to say that there will never be another BTS. Formed in 2010, the band consists of 7 members namely; Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
BTS has broken all the records in the global music industry including 18 Guinness World Records. Snatching awards at American Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, MTV VMAs and many more.

Some of their most iconic albums include, “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever” – marking the start of their global domination, this album encapsulates the feeling of youth, desire for independence, love and rebellion.
“Map Of The Soul: 7” – the vibe and lyrics of this album are real, raw and complex. The members also got to have solo tracks on the album, making it even more personal and special.

NCT
The most unique group in K-pop, NCT (an acronym for Neo Culture Technology) boasts of 23 members divided into four sub-units; NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV. The first of their kind. What makes NCT stand out in the flood of other groups is their diverse and experimental sound. Their music ranges from hip hop, R&B, EDM, trap, house, ballads.

Tomorrow X Together (TXT)
Tomorrow X Together (pronounced as Tomorrow by Together), are part of the “4th generation” of K-pop and their music reflects youthful exuberance.
Following the lead of their senior group, BTS, as they’re in the same entertainment company, HYBE Corporation.

Their music is also known for topping billboard charts, their album ‘The Name Chapter: Temptation’ landed number 1 on Billboard 200. With genres like alternative R&B, pop, rock, pop-punk, disco. They truly embody their “bad boy” on-stage persona with their diverse discography.
