  • Mecca: The birthplace of Muhammad is one special place to visit during the month of Ramadan. It is also fitting to under Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage, during this period of fasting and celebration. While in Mecca, you can witness the Qiamullail prayers, which take place before Suhur, the pre-dawn meal. Mecca also celebrates several Ramadan bazaars where you can enjoy a good time with your Muslim brothers and sisters. 

  • Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dubai is a great place to visit any time of the year, but as a predominantly Muslim nation, it becomes even more beautiful during Ramadan. Enjoy Ramadan in style when you visit any of the popular tourist centres in Dubai. Watch out for the sound of cannons; the breaking of fast is announced nationwide by the firing of cannons. Eat Iftar inside a specially constructed Arabic tent called Ramadan Majlis. 

  • Shiraz, Iran: the former capital of Iran is one of the most enchanting places to visit during the holy month. This city holds the historical wealth of the Muslim people. Among the most famous sites in Shiraz are the Pink Mosque, which is so ornately decorated with mosaic and baffling architecture, and the Vakil Bazaar, where will you find all sorts of vintage Peruvian accessories like souks, pillows, carpets and scarves. The Vakil Bazaar is rumored to be over 4000 years old. 

  • Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei: if you’re looking for a cool and beautiful place to enjoy Ramadan, visit Brunei. Spend the daytime witnessing beautiful landscapes and paddling across transparent lakes. Come nighttime; the city comes alive with colour and music as the locals pray and have Iftar.
