Goodbye Summer: Torbay
As summer comes to a (sad) end, holiday makers are trying to soak up the last bits of the rare U.K sun. When God provides a long bank holiday weekend and a heatwave together, He’s telling you to vacay!
The English Riviera, nicknamed ‘Torbay’, provides gorgeous views from towns such as Babbacombe, Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Located on the bay of Devon (South-West England) it is 3-4 hours by train from Central London.
Being a major tourist area, finding accommodation in a hotel/guesthouse is never a problem. There are hundreds of restaurants, bars and pubs as well as endless activities such as kayaking, jet skiing, paddle boarding and pedal boating in the English Channel.
The small town is filled with warm people who are so welcoming to tourists. They’re always willing to help – whether it be with directions or with recommendations on where to go for dinner. It’s a quiet area where most of the locals are in their 80’s and they fill up their time fishing, crabbing, having lunch by the seaside and basically just chilling.
The Riviera is a great location to relax for a few days. I highly recommend you visit for a long weekend if you get the chance!
