Tristian Thompson has admitted to fathering a child with Maralee Nichols after undergoing a paternity test.

The basketballer confirmed his paternity status in an Instagram story on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son,” he wrote.

“I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal, both privately and publicly.”
In his post, he went on to apologise to his ex-girlfriend Khloe Kardashian who he cheated on with Nichols.

“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years,” he wrote.

“You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.”

“I have the upmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

This admission comes after Tristan repeatedly asked for a DNA test to prove Maralee’s claims that he fathered her son after the two had sexual intercourse over his 30th birthday weekend last March. At that time, Thompson and the Kardashian were believed to have gotten back together.

While the 30-year-old basketballer admitted that he had sex with the personal trainer, he denied being the father of her child.

Nichols gave birth to their son on December 1, and he is Tristan’s third child,

In December, courts documents obtained showed that Nichols was suing Thompson for child support and the reimbursement of medical expenses and pregnancy-related costs.

Denying claims that she had filed for child support earlier, Nichols subsequently told E! News: ‘I did not file any request for child support before our child was born.’

She also filed to submit text messages exchanged between herself and Thompson as evidence for her paternity lawsuit.

In December, a Texas judge dismissed Tristian Thompson’s parallel paternity suit filed against Nichols.
