Exciting news for all lovers of Game of Thrones, that show may have come to an end but coming to your screen is a similar fantasy adaptatio called, The Witcher.

Online streaming-giant, Netflix has announced that its adaptation of The Witcher book series will have its eight episodes be available to stream from December 20 of this year.

The Witcher follows Hollywood actor, Henry Cavil who stars as Geralt of Rivia as the main character. Geralt hunts monsters in a world known as The Continent and the fantasy series sees him team up with a powerful sorceress and young princess – here played by Anya Chalotra and Freya Allen, respectively – to battle inter-dimensional demons.

The Witcher is a fantasy series of novels and short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. They were adapted into a successful video game in 2007.
