2Baba and Annie divorce Saga: Annie has a family–Remmy Njoku, Iyabo Ojo, Sheyishay and others react

Most recently, the marriage between Nigerian music icon Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia and actress Annie Idibia has been a focal point of public discussion.

Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba or 2Face, took to his Instagram page on January 26, 2025, to notify his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia.

Following his announcement, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to Annie Idibia has taken it personal to share their strong opinions about the issue, which to them, has been for a long while.

Mary Remmy Njoku, the Nollywood film producer, shared a very strong opinion that seemed like a threat to 2Baba:
“Bro, Annie has a family o. Your sisters-in-law are many. We’ve stayed quite out of respect for her tough choices but since you’ve decided to humiliate her at her lowest, no wahala. It’s your choice. Just make sure she is healthy and okay because when the time comes, we’ll have plenty questions for you.”

Recall that earlier on, Media personality, Toke Makinwa, had also taken to her Instagram page to share her own opinion: “Nobody is asking anybody to stay in a situation that’s not serving them any purpose, by all means leave but why bring this online this very moment? We know what’s going on behind closed doors the world doesn’t know anything. It’s already been hectic with opinions flying around and when i say we will fight for her, I’m not talking about the general public.”

In fact, it seemed as though most female Nigerian celebrities are ready to theme up for Annie.

Iyabo Ojo when she observed 2face’s comment on the divorce case, commented “Ko ni dafu hackers.” This came after netizens thought that the singers account was hacked.
Sheyishay shared her concern for Annie Idibia when she commented: “I hope Annie is okay wherever she is?”

As we cannot have such saga from famous celebrity couple without netizens’ reactions. A netizen commented: “Don’t y’all think those that are speaking out on Annie’s behalf know what’s happening behind closed doors? These are not foolish women, and they are not in the habit of putting mouth in matters that don’t concern them, so if they are speaking out it means they know a lot more than we do.”

Another added: “Until Annie asks you all to mind your business Una eye go clear.”

More comments on the topic kept pouring in as another netizen aired her view on the matter: “All I can say is Annie saw the red flags , the humiliations etc and was hell bent to be with Tubaba , she was obsessed with him and it’s safe to say she didn’t love herself enough , I pray she heals and learns to love herself and choose herself.”

Muyenyen1 had a different view on the matter as he commented: “I wish people actually knew how 2face had actually had to “fight” his own family to keep this marriage. No one is happy things are going south but can you “celebrities” not start taking sides. You may know what Annie is going through but do you know what 2face is also going through.”
