Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dismissed speculations suggesting he was slapped during a recent appearance in Warri, Delta State.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, September 14, stirred controversy on social media after a video surfaced showing the singer surrounded by security personnel and fans.

In the clip, a hand is seen briefly hitting the singer on the head, prompting widespread reactions.

According to Davido, the action was unintentional and came from a member of his own security team.

“Mumu that was my security .. hit me by mistake .. saddist,” he wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday.

The short video had earlier gone viral after an X user, @AsakyGRN, posted a clip with the caption, “Warri people no get joy oo. See dem sl@p Davido for head.”

The post sparked debate among fans and social media users, many questioning whether the singer was assaulted while exiting the event venue.
