And for almost a decade Nigerians finally made the cut.

Who are the Nigerians? What are their contributions to be so recognised, let’s take a look, and why they made Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2023.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Call him the Jagaban, some others know him as the City Boy. Down the coast of Isale-Eko, they see him as the Lion of Bourdilion.

Nigeria’s president-elect has remained relevant in the country’s politics since 1993. He has mentored many successful politicians and amassed a large following in the process. Hence his monicker Builder of Men.

Jagaban won a disputed election and will be sworn in as the president of Africa’s biggest democracy on May 29.

Dimie Ogoina
He tweeted having discovered he was included, in his words, “I am proud” and surely none can be prouder at this moment than him.
