Actor Bruce Willis steps away from acting ever since he was diagnosed with dementia, (frontotemporal dementia, according to his family announcement.) a kind of dementia that causes difficulty in speaking.

The actor himself understands what disease he’s battling, which seems to have no cure at the moment. Hence the need to seek proper attention and care from family and loved ones.

While he continues to recover from the illness, the two time Emmy’s award winner was in a joyful mood as he’ sings and blew away candles on his 68th birthday. If the signs are to do by with, then he seems to be getting back on his feet.

While in the celebratory, mood, his ex-wife Demi Moore penned him an emotional birthday wish, and a message to people living with dementia, she said “Sometimes in our lives, we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it, and that’s what I’m doing,” she said in the short video. “But I do have times of sadness every day, grief every day and I’m feeling it today on his birthday.”

Willis was diagnosed with Dementia in the month of February 2022, little is known of what type of dementia he has, asides from the ones listed above, but according to research, Frontotemporal dementia is a devastating and life-changing disease for which we have no cure an,d little the way of treatment. For now, the focus is on managing symptoms and maximizing quality of life.

This may involve helping people develop ways to manage their emotions and behaviour, or drugs such as antidepressants and antipsychotics
