Santa came early for the news outlets as the week before Christmas threatened to burst open with the plethora of headlines that made the rounds. Nollywood’s most controversial diva reveals more than we expect in debut reality show and there seems to be trouble in paradise in the home of a media personality and maybe a debate on who the queen of rap really is. These are the stories that made our week.

Innocent until proven guilty

There is trouble in paradise as on-air personality Stephanie Coker’s husband Olumide Aderinokun has been arrested and arraigned on an eight-count charge before Igbosere Magistrate Court for alleged conspiracy, forgery and for selling a piece of land deceptively. Of course, he is innocent until proven guilty as he also pleaded “not guilty” to the court. Save being in the limelight because of his wife, he is also the brother to Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB)’s late founder, Tayo Adenirokun.

Who’s the queen of rap?

With the 2018 Grammy nominations list in sight and Cardi B’s nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for Bodak Yellow, the world is really asking who the queen of rap is. Cardi is behind one of the most famous songs of 2017 and has broken records from snagging the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100 to being the first black woman to have a solo number one since Lauryn Hill’s Doo Wop (That Thing) in 1998. Is one song enough for Cardi to dethrone Nicki? We’d find out soon enough.

No beef in 2018

Davido is probably one of Nigeria’s most talked about artists, as he’s always involved in some drama. From his baby mama drama to the death of some his friends, he is a constantly on news headlines and, as the year winds down, he’s making the headlines positive. At the 10th edition of the annual Ovation Red Carol in Lagos, Davido apologised to Momodu after performing on stage, which ended with a hug by the media mogul and the artist. Momodu later shared their photos on his Instagram page and praised Davido for his maturity.

Nigeria’s Kardashian

Just when you think you’ve had enough of Tonto Dikeh, she comes back and drags the carpet beneath your feet. In a recent teaser of her reality show titled King Tonto, she shares intimate details of her life for the camera. The catchiest snippet from this trailer was her confession of her insecurities about her body and her going under the knife. We are afraid Dikeh has ventured into a land that most of her colleagues have ventured and failed, and that’s a reality show that might actually be as real as it gets.

Predators in Hollywood

As 2017 comes to a close, there’s a long list of A-list actors and key players in Hollywood that will have to start 2018 with a new year resolution and probably new identities. On that growing list, T.J Miller snags a spot with recent allegations from an anonymous lady who claims that Miller abused her physically and sexually. The actor, who is known for his comic roles in movies like Deadpool and the Emoji movie, has denied all allegations.
