Millions of tributes and condolence messages have poured in from all over the world following the tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant who died alongside his daughter and seven others in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

Following the news of his death, many have been waiting for his wife, Vanessa‘s statement concerning her husband’s death and she broke her silence on Wednesday night in an Instagram post.

The 37-year-old widow said there “aren’t enough words to describe” the turmoil felt following the sudden loss of her “adoring husband Kobe”  and their daughter Gianna.

Her tribute to them opens up about the “pain” and “devastation” she and her daughters feel since their death.

Also thanking the millions of people who have shown their support for her and her family during these sad times, Vanessa wrote:

“We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe — the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna — a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri,” she wrote in the emotional post.

“I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever.

“They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon.”

“We definitely need them,” she agonized.

She added:

“I’m not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without them.

“But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because of Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way.

“Our love for them is endless – and that’s to say, immeasurable.

“Thank you for sharing your joy, your grief and your support with us.

“We ask that you grant us the respect and privacy we will need to navigate this new reality.”

Vanessa also disclosed that to support the family of the other victims of the helicopter crash, the Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund and wellwishers can donate.

She concluded her tribue:

“To honour our Team Mamba family, the Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to help support the other families affected by this tragedy.

To donate, please go to MambaOnThree.org.

To further Kobe and Gianna’s legacy in youth sports, please visit MambaSportsFoundation.org.

Thank you so much for lifting us up in your prayers, and for loving Kobe, Gigi, Natalia, Bianka, Capri and me. #Mamba #Mambacita #GirlsDad #DaddysGirls #Family.”

The post garnered over three million likes in an hour and had several celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Chelsea Handler, Draya Michele, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, among others share their condolences.

Vanessa has also changed the image of her official Instagram account to a photo of the 41-year-old doting dad lovingly embracing their 13-year-old daughter at his final NBA All-Star game in 2016.

GiGi, who was an athletic prodigy and a talented basketball player like her dad, can be seen hugging him while Kobe grins back at her.
