Barely eight hours after its release, Wizkid’s sixth studio album, Morayo, has claimed the number one spot on the Nigerian Apple Top Albums Chart.
The Afrobeat icon, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, continues to prove his dominance in the music scene with this deeply personal project.
The album, released on November 22 under Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records, is more than just music; it’s a tribute to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. The title, Morayo, meaning “I see joy” in Yoruba, encapsulates Wizkid’s emotions and growth during this challenging period.
