Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has urged her colleague, Regina Daniels, to prioritise her safety if she is experiencing domestic violence in her marriage.
In a post shared on Instagram, the actress wrote: “Regina Daniels, if domestic violence is involved, leave to live. Do not let bitter and jobless internet trolls bully you. There’s no excuse for domestic violence! We love you, and your experience is valid.”
Her comment comes as people online discuss Regina Daniels’ claims of domestic violence against her husband, Ned Nwoko.
Her post drew reactions online. While many agreed with Yvonne, others had mixed opinions.
An Instagram user, @edos_artistry, said, “Since yesterday, I’ve been angry, but I don’t want to be commenting on blogs. Tomorrow now, someone else will be going through worse and won’t speak out, and one day we’ll hear the person is gone. Then you’ll come to this internet and see crocodile tears. Full adult go set ring light to talk about Regina, women for that matter!”
Another user, @mr_aboobae, disagreed, saying, “She said she’d rather cry in a Ferrari. Why fight for someone who already chose her poison? She said Nigerians shouldn’t advise her. I’d wait for her to settle with him and insult you online advocates.”
